God Talks to Bishop Eddie Long’s Wife About Divorce
It seems as if God cannot make up His mind on whether or not He want Vanessa Long to leave her husband, Eddie Long, of 20 years.
On Friday, Vanessa Long made the following statement:
“After a great deal of deliberation and prayer, I have decided to terminate my marriage to Bishop Eddie L. Long.”
Later Friday afternoon, Vanessa Long stated that she doesn’t want to seek a divorce and that ‘years of attacks in the media’ as the reason for her initial decision to seek a divorce.
According to BET:
It was just yesterday that she filed for divorce from her husband of 20 years,
saying, ”After a great deal of deliberation and prayer, I have decided to terminate my marriage to Bishop Eddie L. Long. Accordingly, I authorized my attorneys to file for divorce on December 1, 2011.”
Apparently, during prayers she couldn’t hear God’s true words on whether or not she should leave her husband. Silly media should keep quiet when God is speaking to His flocks.
Last year, four teenage boys filed lawsuits against Bishop Eddie Long, saying that he coerced them into having sexual relations with him. According to the boys, Eddie Long would take them on long trips to New York, New Zealand, and South Africa, and would buy them cars as gifts. In exchange for these gifts Bishop Eddie Long wanted sex from the young boys who were 17 and 18 years old. Apparently, the sex was legal because the age of consent in the state of Georgia is 16 years old.
Eddie Long settled outside of court with the boys. However, if the sex really happened, it would have been in stark contrast to what Eddie Long believes. He’s against homosexuality to a the point that he even led sexual reorientation camps. Could it be that Eddie Long is a hypocrite? A wolf in sheep clothing? Maybe his wife is staying to keep up appearances.
Either way, it seems like God have to speak louder for Vanessa Long to hear what He really wants her to do. I guess for now she’ll be staying with her down low husband to preach the good book to all who will listen.
