Why is Associated Content Rejecting Articles?
Why does Associated Content rejects articles? The following is one of the reason given by an Associated Content editor for rejecting an article for upfront payment:
“AC is building a unique library of online content, and this submission doesn’t differ enough in topic or breadth from existing content. Content on this topic is too common and widely available online.”
While I do understand the need to build a unique library of online content, I cannot understand why AC will still accept the same article for page view payment only. If the article is not unique enough for upfront payment, what makes the same article unique enough for page view only payments?
What to do with a rejected article?
If your article was rejected you could:
Rewrite it using a different keyword and/or keyphrases and resubmit it for upfront payment.
I had a few articles that was rejected by AC that I’ve rewritten and resubmitted. I was able to get upfront payment but sometimes the payment offer was so low that I decided it just wasn’t worth it.
Submit the article for page view only payment
Associated Content offers between $1.00 per 1000 views to $2.00 per page views depending on your “clout” level. While I do think it’s a good way to earn, I found that shopping around for a better offer is usually the best way to go.
Submit the article to a different content site
Since AC rejects articles for not being “unique” enough for their library, I it is best to try to use another online content library. I have submitted articles to sites such as Triond (50% adsense sharing revenue plus page view payments) and InfoBarrel (75% adsense sharing revenue) with much better results.

Associated Content No Longer Pays Upfront for News Articles
It used to be that Associated Content paid money for contents such as articles, slide shows, and audio.
When Associated Content started out, many writers, both beginners and professionals, flocked to the site. Payments were good back in those days.
However, over time, many writers noticed that Associated Content’s payments have decreased.
It seems as if Associated Content have put another dent in their writers pocket.
AC usually pays $4 upfront payment for news articles, such as the recent Tiger Woods SUV car crash. Not anymore! Associated Content have sent news writers the following:
“We have decided to remove the Upfront Payment option for non-assignment news.
Too much of our resources were spent reviewing for-pay stories that either didn’t come close to meeting requirements or were merely stolen from other media companies.
It’s our hope this will free us up to devote our time and energy to work that is more beneficial to Contributors, AC and our readers.
As always, we will continue to issue for-pay news assignments that are available to the entire community.”
This means even writers with legitimate news will not be paid the usual $4 upfront payment for the article unless it is something Associated Content have requested.
I can understand why AC will no longer want to pay for News articles. It’s simply rehashed news, summarized, rewritten, and given a “new angle” by writers on Associated Content.
ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW:
What angers me is that people who have first hand accounts of legitimate news will not be paid upfront payments because of writers who only written rehashed articles. How professional is that? Well, thanks AC for at least reading your forums and taking action! Makes me wonder if that particular writer’s other articles are all rehashed stuff.
